While seven-in-ten Americans use the internet to get some form of recession-related material, when it comes to general economic information broadcast media is king. Fully 84% get general economic information from television and radio; fewer than half use the internet. Among those with broadband connections at home the internet (67%) matches newspapers and magazines (67%) as a source for personal and global financial information but still lags well behind broadcast media (85%). But the desire for online information is not very intense.
