Over half of Americans surveyed (55%) in a recent Pew Forum poll said that they had received a definite answer to a specific prayer request. About one-in-four Americans (26%) reported that they had received a direct revelation from God. Pentecostals and other renewalist populations reported higher rates than other Christians, with 77% of pentecostals and 63% of charismatics saying they had received an answer to a prayer, while 54% of pentecostals and 39% of charismatics said they had received a revelation.
