Public trust in the federal government near record low
Partisan trust in government shifts with control of the White House but remains lower in both parties than it was last century

Anger and contentment with the federal government shift with presidential administrations
Growing numbers, especially among Democrats, are concerned rights may vary from state to state
About 6 in 10 Republicans are at least very concerned about the federal government doing too much
