1. Who should create a community group quiz?

Are you an educator, civic leader or a member of the public who is interested to see how your community compares with the rest of the country? The community version allows you to administer a group version of one of our quizzes and invite members of your own community to take it.

Anyone can create a community group – invite your family, friends and social networking circles to join you and see how your group stacks up.

2. How do I administer the quiz to a group?

First, visit the quiz page and select the “Start a new community group” option. You will then be able to name your group and will receive a custom group ID and unique link. Next, click “Sign into your community group” to start the quiz. Share the link with as many people as you’d like to participate in the group quiz – via teaching materials, email, social media sites or word-of-mouth. Once five users have taken the quiz, you can see how your results compare with both our nationally representative survey and your community group. Your answers are anonymous – only you will be able to see them.

3. What do you do with the results?

The Pew Research Center provides the results to you and your group members as a service to your community. We will not publish or save your group results.

4. If I forget my group ID or unique link, how can I access it?

If you are an administrator of a group, click on the Groups tab in your profile.

If you are a member of a group, please contact your group administrator.

5. Can I see individual responses of other participants in my group?

No, each group member’s answers are anonymous.

6. How big does my group need to be to get results?

At least five people must take the quiz to be able to compare your own results with your community’s. But you can always share your group ID with more people or see how your individual responses compare with the general public’s.

7. Can I access the dataset for my group’s results?

At this time, you will not be able to download the dataset directly from the quiz itself. However, datasets are available upon request. If you would like to access your group’s data, you can email quiz-support@pewresearch.org, and we will send it to you.

8. Can I compare my group’s results to another group’s?

No, you will be able to compare your group’s results with the general public’s, but you will not be able to directly compare your group results with those of another group.

9. Can I share my group link with others?

Yes! Please share your link with as many people as you would like to be included in your community results. Just note that anyone who takes the quiz with your unique URL will be considered part of your community and thus counted in your results.
