Secretary of State John Kerry’s Travel Itinerary

John Kerry will take his first trip abroad as Secretary of State from February 24 to March 6, travelling to Europe and the Middle East. In Europe, he will visit Britain, Germany, France and Italy, where he will discuss bilateral relations as well as the ongoing conflicts in Mali and Syria. America’s image remains strong in these European countries, as it has throughout the Obama era.

Kerry will then head to Turkey to discuss regional stability, counterterrorism cooperation, and the U.S.-Turkey relationship. Next, Kerry will visit Cairo, meeting with senior Egyptian officials to encourage greater political consensus and economic reforms in post-revolution Egypt. The U.S. remains unpopular in Egypt and Turkey but America continues to have a strategic interest in the region. Kerry will conclude his trip in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar.
